New Mangalore Port is a deep-water, all-weather port at Panambur, Mangalore in Karnataka state in India, which is the deepest inner harbour on the west coast. It is the only major port of Karnataka and is the seventh largest port in India. This port is operated by New Mangalore Port Trust.

#1. Berth Restrictions:
(a) LOA (Length Overall), Beam, and Draft:
(b) Vessels must comply with the specific LOA, beam, and draft limitations for each berth.
(c) Tanker Restrictions:
(d) Specific requirements for tankers, such as minimum parallel body length, distance from manifold connection, and combined LOA for multiple berths.
#2. General Restrictions:
(a) Visibility: Berthing/unberthing activities are suspended if visibility falls below 1000 meters.
(b) Vessel Age: Vessels 25 years or older may be accepted subject to specific permissions.
(c) Berthing During Specific Events: Restrictions may be placed on berthing during high-profile events, like a visit by the Prime Minister.
#3. Permissible Draft:
(a) New Mangalore Port has a 14m draft.
(b) The maximum permissible draft in the channel is 14.50 m, but specific berth and anchorage limitations apply.
(c) Container vessels up to 350 m can be handled with a 14.5 m draft, subject to tide conditions.
#4. Other Restrictions:
(a) Pilotage: Pilotage may be required for drafts exceeding 9 m.
(b) Heavy Vehicle Movement: Restrictions may be placed on the movement of heavy vehicles on specific dates.
(c) Security Measures: Access restrictions may be in place for guests and visitors, especially during specific events.

(a) New Mangalore Port provides daily vessel position archives
(a) VHF Channels: 16, 14, and 12.
(b) Communication: 24/7 operations connected via Radio Wireless Station with a range of 500 km .
(c) Admiralty Chart: IN2002 – Ports of New Mangalore and Mangalore
(d) Approach Channels: IN2359 – Approaches to Port of New Mangalore.
